Energy Absolute partners with NSTDA on advanced battery technology

An agreement has been reached between Energy Absolute Public Company Limited (EA) and NSTDA(National Science and Technology Development Agency) on a collaborative project to enable energy security for Thailand. The MOU was signed by Mr. Somphote Ahunai, EA CEO, and Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, NSTDA President on 22 September 2020. Signing an MOU with NSTDA aims to bring the technology to increase efficiency, reduce production costs, and improve the properties of the battery. This will benefit the company's battery production project to begin commercial operation early next year onwards. It is the heart of supporting the electric vehicle industry to compete with foreign countries. Under this 5-year agreement, NSTDA, represented by the National Security and Dual-Use Technology Center (NSD), and EA are committed to research collaboration on cutting-edge energy technology to improve efficiency and safety of energy storage devices and battery management systems covering topics such as supercapacitor, zinc-ion battery, lithium-sulfur battery, activated carbon production from locally-sourced biomass such as palm kernel shells, and graphene fabrication. In addition to R&D, both parties will strengthen manpower development and support the establishment of a state-of-the-art battery testing center.
